"The greatest journey you will ever make is the 18 inches from your head to your heart, to walk off the map of what you know, into the heart of the one who knows you, to go beyond the facts in your head to know Gods furious love in your heart."

The Hope of Being His from Reality on Vimeo.

Comfort for my weary heart

"I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you." (Psalm 139:7-12 NLT)

Golden

Oh loveliest, loveliest friends. Just look at 'em! Why am I so blessed?

Last min SD trip was well worth this painful night of homework ahead.
I think God crafted my soul out of 1 part sky, 1 part cuddles, and 2 parts sea.

..Just look at it. Well, scratch that.. just go to it.... actually don't stop there...jump in, taste it, dance in it, swim in it, and make sure you laugh in it!! That's when the magic of it all is in full swing.

Kony 2012

Read this.

Proud of you Ching.

Psalm 20

" May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;

may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.
May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
May we shout for joy over your victory
and lift up our banners in the name of our God.

May the LORD grant all your requests.

Now this I know:
The LORD gives victory to his anointed.
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
LORD, give victory to the king!
Answer us when we call!"

Now I do declare, a good friend is one of the finest things a girl can find herself having.
Best accidental St. Patrick's Day celebration yet.

"Our mission is to plant ourselves at the gates of hope—not the prudent gates of Optimism, which are somewhat narrower; nor the stalwart, boring gates of Common Sense; nor the strident gates of self-righteousness, which creak on shrill and angry hinges (people cannot hear us there; they cannot pass through); nor the cheerful, flimsy garden gate of “Everything is gonna be all right.” But a different, sometimes lonely place, the place of truthtelling, about your own soul first of all and its condition, the place of resistance and defiance, the piece of ground from which you see the world both as it is and as it could be, as it will be; the place from which you glimpse not only struggle, but joy in the struggle. And we stand there, beckoning and calling, telling people what we’re seeing, asking people what they see."

Lather, Rinse, Repeat

"The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever."
Psalm 23

And then repeat, then repeat, then repeat, then repeat, then repeat.

The birds can tell spring is on its way. They have been singing the prettiest songs at the top of their tiny lungs these last few days. I cherish their little spring procession symphonies. It is pure music to my ears, pure inspiration to my soul, and a soothing fresh breath of air in the midst of the days events. I could only imagine how spring must feel to be so adored and welcomed by those tiny sweethearts.

Farewell

I know winter is quickly on its way out, but this is just too dreamy and lovely to not share. I guess I'll consider this my couple days early farewell to winter.

Dear (California) winter,
Thanks for .... being really bi-polar and as confusing as always. I loved surfing in your 80 degree sunshine. If you want to be a real winter sometime, I guess that's ok with me. If not, that's ok too. Do whatever you wan't really.
Indifferently yours,
Heather.

P.s. Cheers to you winter. 'Till we meet again next year (Lord willing). After all, who knows where another year could take our friendship.
P.p.s. You are a lot lovelier than I'm making you out to be.

But really, Isn't this beautiful?

Filled Shoes, Free Soul

Sometimes it's really nice to not know why you are where you are, or why your doing what your doing. It's like you don't have to be so tied up in those lesser "greater purposes". In a sense it frees you to just live for the One great purpose, knowing that in the grand scheme of things, as well a the minutia of the day to day, that the lead role of hero has already been cast and preformed flawlessly.

I couldn't understand my whys any less this year, but for the first time in my life, I'm not too terribly concerned about them. Maybe it's just that I am actually starting to believe that I'm not the climax of this story?

I am grateful to have been grafted into a bigger story than me, myself and I.

Carry me through Father.

"Trying to be happy without a sense of Gods presence is like trying to have a bright day without the sun." - A.W. Tozer

Psalm 104

" Let all that I am praise the LORD.

O LORD my God, how great you are!
You are robed with honor and majesty.
You are dressed in a robe of light.
You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens;
you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds.
You make the clouds your chariot;
you ride upon the wings of the wind.
The winds are your messengers;
flames of fire are your servants.

You placed the world on its foundation
so it would never be moved.
You clothed the earth with floods of water,
water that covered even the mountains.
At your command, the water fled;
at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.
Mountains rose and valleys sank
to the levels you decreed.
Then you set a firm boundary for the seas,
so they would never again cover the earth.

You make springs pour water into the ravines,
so streams gush down from the mountains.
They provide water for all the animals,
and the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
The birds nest beside the streams
and sing among the branches of the trees.
You send rain on the mountains from your heavenly home,
and you fill the earth with the fruit of your labor.
You cause grass to grow for the livestock
and plants for people to use.
You allow them to produce food from the earth—
wine to make them glad,
olive oil to soothe their skin,
and bread to give them strength.
The trees of the LORD are well cared for—
the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
There the birds make their nests,
and the storks make their homes in the cypresses.
High in the mountains live the wild goats,
and the rocks form a refuge for the hyraxes.

You made the moon to mark the seasons,
and the sun knows when to set.
You send the darkness, and it becomes night,
when all the forest animals prowl about.
Then the young lions roar for their prey,
stalking the food provided by God.
At dawn they slink back
into their dens to rest.
Then people go off to their work,
where they labor until evening.

O LORD, what a variety of things you have made!
In wisdom you have made them all.
The earth is full of your creatures.
Here is the ocean, vast and wide,
teeming with life of every kind,
both large and small.
See the ships sailing along,
and Leviathan,[c] which you made to play in the sea.

They all depend on you
to give them food as they need it.
When you supply it, they gather it.
You open your hand to feed them,
and they are richly satisfied.
But if you turn away from them, they panic.
When you take away their breath,
they die and turn again to dust.
When you give them your breath, life is created,
and you renew the face of the earth.

May the glory of the LORD continue forever!
The LORD takes pleasure in all he has made!
The earth trembles at his glance;
the mountains smoke at his touch.

I will sing to the LORD as long as I live.
I will praise my God to my last breath!
May all my thoughts be pleasing to him,
for I rejoice in the LORD.
Let all sinners vanish from the face of the earth;
let the wicked disappear forever.

Let all that I am praise the LORD.

Praise the LORD!"

People are absolutely amazing.
