This quote inspired me like none I have ever heard. I will never again be sorry for loving all the lovely things in this universe. When people laugh at me and call me childish for laughing my head off in joy at the sight of a wave, of the moon, or of the clouds, I will thank them whole heartily for their compliment and praise God for making me in His image.
“Because children have abounding vitality, because they are in spirit fierce and free, therefore they want things repeated and unchanged. They always say, "Do it again"; and the grown-up person does it again until he is nearly dead. For grown-up people are not strong enough to exult in monotony. But perhaps God is strong enough to exult in monotony. It is possible that God says every morning, "Do it again" to the sun; and every evening, "Do it again" to the moon. It may not be automatic necessity that makes all daisies alike; it may be that God makes every daisy separately, but has never got tired of making them. It may be that He has the eternal appetite of infancy; for we have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we.”
- G.K. Chesterton
"I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me. " Ps 42:7
" The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth."
-Psalm 19:1-6
All of the glory and beauty of nature only serves to point us to the source of beauty, joy, and hope: Jesus.
